The ‘Tea Room‘ in this instance, refers to the radical use of home, inspired by the Victorian era suffragettes; to foster the sharing of ideas, organise and exploit the privacy inherent (for now) to the home. In this world of surveillance and device, you are encouraged to leave your phone at the door…

What if we are not as separate as we think? This exhibition is both a meditation and a reflection. The same flowing marks, made again and again across many pieces, is a practice in itself, a returning, a quietening, a way of letting the Dao come through when the thinking mind steps aside. Wu wei, the Daoist principle of acting without forcing, is as much the process as it is the philosophy. Within that repetition lives a second reflection, the encounters we have as we move through life. The paths that cross for a moment or a lifetime, the ripple that travels further than we see. Come and be inside it

We acknowledge the Kaurna people as the traditional owners of the land upon which we work.
We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
